Depression

Persistent sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of energy often characterize depression. Expecting things to get worse, focusing on the negative (even when good outcomes occur), and self-medicating worsen the condition. For most of us, depression is inherited, passed on from one generation to the next.
We need to adopt constructive strategies to overcome our inheritance: working, expressing emotions freely, abstaining from addictive substances and behavior, engaging in hobbies and sports, and openly discussing thoughts and feelings. Support from loved ones is also crucial for managing depression effectively.
Due to the relentless pace and pressures of contemporary life, stress has become a modern plague impacting every one of us. Work demands, financial pressures, social conflicts, information overload, and health concerns deplete our coping capacity, magnifying the hopelessness and fatigue already present in depression.
Overcoming depression and discouragement involves understanding the causes of our feelings—whether physical (illness, lack of sleep), emotional (jealousy, failure), or spiritual.
Practical advice includes:
•Seek help and express emotions openly
•Avoid chemical and online addictions
•Engage in physical activity
•Take life one day at a time
* Pay attention to your nutrition.
* Receive sun light
* Quality of sleep is key
Overcome depression through a combination of emotional expression, healthy lifestyle choices, social support, and a commitment to daily renewal and hope. We are fortunate to live in the age of neurofeedback which can assist and consolidate these changes.
