Anxiety

Pervasive worry, restlessness, insomnia, irritability, and difficulty concentrating, are all signs of anxiety. We may feel constantly “on edge” and overreact to perceived threats, even in safe environments, reducing our ability to function in daily routines.

Our brain has hijacked our mind and diminished our well-being. Fortunately, we can identify how our brain has broken away from healthier ways with a brainmap. A brainmap allows personalized treatment tailored to our unique issues. Those of us who are excessively concerned with opinions of others and “fitting in” show cortical hyperarousal, while those of us who experience general unease punctuated by sudden fears and retreat from opportunities show a brainmap biased toward threat detection and reactivity to the environment.

Due to the relentless pace and pressures of contemporary life, stress has become a modern plague impacting every one of us. Work demands, financial pressures, social conflicts, information overload, and health concerns all drain our adaptive capacity, intensifying anxiety and leaving us more vulnerable to overreacting to even minor challenges.

Neurofeedback teaches new behaviors and increases connectivity between emotional and cognitive networks. Over repeated sessions, our brain learns to achieve balanced activation without conscious effort and establish and maintain calm.

Unlike medication, which suppresses symptoms temporarily, neurofeedback targets mechanisms underlying anxiety and promotes enduring neuroplastic change in our brain. Studies show that once maladaptive patterns are replaced with optimal ones, benefits are never lost as new neural circuitry now exists. Benefits include reduced worry, calm mood, improved sleep, and resilience to stress.

Defeat anxiety once and for all with neurofeedback.
