Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about Kaiser Neuromap Institute.

Kaiser Neuromap Institute is not associated with Kaiser Permanente.

Our services are paid out of pocket. We do not accept insurance.

Is neurofeedback safe and permanent?

Neurofeedback is non-invasive. No electrical currents nor magnetic pulses are sent into your brain. We have a specialized hardware and software  that reads brainwave activity that you generate.

How long will my neurofeedback treatment last?

New brain habits will endure indefinitely. We cannot control future events, of course, but our treatment will make you more capable to face obstacles and challenges of life that come your way.

What is a neurotherapy session like?

Brainwave training takes no conscious effort.  We train brain rhythms, what we call the preconscious system.  Each session consists of watching a movie or documentary with sensors attached to scalp while seated in a very comfortable recliner while we work on the preconscious.

Is neurofeedback scientific?

Yes. Neurofeedback began in 1967 with NASA and UCLA research and the field has advanced with evidence-based approaches ever since, including our own form DNT ( Default Network Training) created by our scientific director Dr David Kaiser PhD (UCLA 1994).

How many sessions will I need?

Our approach is personalized. For each person we create a unique program that ranges from 20 to 60 hours, depending upon problem severity. Sessions are generally two hours in duration with most issues resolved by 20 sessions (40 hours).
